No Lack
Michael A. Verdicchio
It has never been the will of God for you to lack.
Genesis 1:28-30:
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and
multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion
over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every
living thing that moveth upon the earth.
And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which
is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the
fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to
every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have
given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
From the very beginning it was God's will for mankind to live abundantly without any lack.
John 3:16:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
God's will is for every person is to have everlasting life. To
live forever is certainly not lacking life; it is an abundance of life.
Psalm 107:20:
He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
The will of God is that we have no lack in our physical bodies, but rather that we are healed.
Romans 5:6-8:
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
It is not the will of God that we lack strength, spiritual
strength. It is not the will of God that we lack God.
Because of His love for us He sent His only begotten Son so that we
could have everlasting life, spiritual strength and not lack.
Romans 3:21-24:
But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto
all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
It is not the will of God that we lack righteousness (that we lack being right in God's eyes) so, He made us righteous.
Ephesians 1:3:
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath
blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
It is not the will of God that we lack any spiritual blessings so He
has blessed us with all of them! Nothing lacking. That's
why in I Corinthians 12 the Word of God teaches that every believer can
operate all nine manifestations.
James 1:5:
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
God does not want us to lack wisdom and therefore He promised that He would give us the wisdom that we need.
I John 1:9:
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Our loving God does not want us to lack any forgiveness from Him, so He
is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us. Being cleansed
from all unrighteousness we need not lack in our confidence to come to
Him.
Our God is a God that supplies - eternal life, physical healing,
righteousness, spiritual strength, all spiritual blessing, wisdom,
forgiveness, and so much more. It is never the will of God for us
to lack in any category of our lives.
Psalm 34:10:
The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.
It is not the will of God for you to lack in any category of your
life. God does not bring lack to people's lives. He does
not bring sickness and disease; He does not bring death; He does not
bring sorrow and pain; He does not bring a loss of someone's job just
to test them.
Our God is a God Who supplies and delivers so that there is no lack.
God is an abundant God; a God Who has always been a God of abundant
supply.
Deuteronomy 8:18:
But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee
power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware
unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
God gives power to get wealth! It is so clear in God's Word that
He does not want us lacking. How then could He want us to
lack in finances? If He gave us all spiritual blessings so that
we would not lack any spiritual blessings, why would He then want us to
lack in physical blessings? His promises concerning physical
blessings certainly do not indicate lack.
- God will open the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing there is not room enough to receive it.
- Your barns will be filled with plenty and your wine presses will be bursting forth with new wine.
- You will be receiving back, pressed down shaken together and running over.
- All grace will abound toward you, so that you always, having all
sufficiency, in all things, may abound to every good work.
Yes He has promised to supply abundantly all that we need!
In a "Pep Talk" about lack, I said the following:
"Most people seem to look at what they are lacking and have determined
that their lack is the problem. They look at a lack of positive
things happening - if there were just more positive things happening
life would be so much better.
They look at a lack of good things in their lives - if there were just
more good things in their lives it would just be so much better.
This looking at lack is most prevalent in the financial category.
People look at their lack of finances and really believe that is the
problem. They say things like, "If I had more money, if I was out of
debt, if I could just earn more money. Not having enough money is
the problem in my life."
The lack is not the problem. Lack is never the problem. Lack is merely the result of what's going on inside.
If you plant a carrot seed into the ground, what is in the
ground? A carrot seed. What will the result be?
Corn? Tomatoes? No, it will be carrots.
If you put a chicken in the oven to bake, when it's done what comes out? A Turkey? A ham? No, a chicken.
Now I know these are silly illustrations, but I use them to make a
point, a very serious point. What is on the outside is a very
good reflection of what's happening on the inside.
I recently saw part of a program on TV about real estate. The man
speaking is extremely successful in the real estate business.
Perhaps you've heard of him, his name is Robert Kiyosaki. One of
the statements that he made was really terrific. He told his
audience about the most valuable piece of real estate on earth.
Do you know where it is?
This piece of real estate is so valuable, more than any other property
you could own. It's not a very big piece of real estate
either. Where is it? Mr. Kiyosaki said it is the piece of
real estate just above your nose.
That successful man knows that what's on the inside is vitally
important to what's going to happen on the outside. (It's amazing
too, because when that man began to prosper, many in his Church scorned
him and accused him of being too worldly.)
But sadly, most people look at the lack in their lives as being the
problem. Lack in your life is never the problem. Take a
good look at what's inside. Where is your mindset?
You can focus on where you are in your life right now and accept
that. That is a mindset. You can focus on your limitations
and accept that. That is also a mindset. Or, you can
focus your mental attention on where you desire to go in life.
You can picture in your mind who you want to be and where you desire to
go. That too is a mind set.
If there is lack in your life, refuse to focus on the lack and refuse
to accept the lack. God never intended for His people to
lack. God has promised abundance in every category of life.
Stay clear, concerned, and focused on His promises and you will receive
His blessings."
Psalm 23:1:
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
The shepherd was to take very good care of the sheep. The
relationship the believers in the Old Testament had with God was that
of servants. Would God do any less for us today? Our relationship
is that of a son - He is our Father!
"I shall not want." Want what? "I shall not want." Is
there a boundary set in this verse? It doesn't say, "He supplies
abundantly." or "He gives me everything I need." Instead, it is
stated this way emphasizing that there are no boundaries! It
emphasizes the great unlimited abundance of our God! "I shall not
want!"
God's will is that you lack nothing. God's will is that you shall never be in need.
Ephesians 3:20 and 21:
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
Is it never the will of God for you to lack in any category of your life.
